on a fresh install of Suse 10.1 you need to add the following to /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d/loadmodule.conf

LoadModule dav_module /usr/lib/apache2/mod_dav.so
LoadModule dav_fs_module /usr/lib/apache2/mod_dav_fs.so</description>
